Small Steps, Lasting Impact: Sunu Reew Expands Support for Future Healthcare Leaders

Every meaningful impact often begins with a small step. What may appear as a modest act of support today can grow into a transformative effort tomorrow. This belief is at the heart of Sunu Reew Medical Mission, whose commitment to empowering young healthcare professionals continues to expand year after year.

In what began as an initiative to support a handful of students, we sponsored just five students to attend the Banjul International Surgical Scientific Conference in its earlier phase. At the time, it was a small but meaningful investment in the academic and professional growth of medical students.

Today, that initiative has grown remarkably.

In 2026, we are sponsoring 22 students from the School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences at the University of The Gambia to participate in the 4th Banjul International Surgical Scientific Conference. What began as a modest act of encouragement has evolved into a significant contribution toward building the next generation of healthcare professionals.

The conference provides a valuable platform for medical students, practitioners, and researchers to engage with the latest advancements in surgical science, share knowledge, and build networks that strengthen healthcare systems across the region.
